last day of march. kittens have arrived. no more wardrobe changes for kitty! she's too busy...and I'm on to other things as well!
she has needed her saltines...to keep the morning sickness at bay.
she's on her honeymoon...
I have been working on things other than kitty outfits...
kitty and chester got married. private ceremony, i wasn't invited either...i hear those are real diamonds in her tiara...(i guess that was her bachelor party the nite before)
NATE!!!! he is NOT a good influence on kitty...it looks like he took kitty to cancun for spring break...that's it, kitty is not allowed to spend time with nate anymore. trashtrashtrash. this is not how i raised kitty...altho i bet there's some good 80's music going on...
kitty's boyfriend showered her with roses so she is feeling better and back to wearing 4 inch heels.
she twisted her ankle hiking...good thing kitties heal fast.
the sartorialist (here) is having a contest of sorts...asking people to send in vintage photos showcasing great style. I submitted this photo of our dad...seriously, he was so handsome and full of natural style.
nate sent this photo ... it's all felted ... from an exhibit at williams college museum of art (here).
from Paris, kitty took the train into Germany for some hiking...
I think the US post office should make stamps that look like they are on kraft paper...
it's faux fur...she would NEVER ever wear the real thing.
the problem with doing these doodles right on the kraft paper is that if i want to use the linework against a different background i've got to figure out how to separate it in photoshop...and i don't know a dang thing about photoshop.
kitty has a boyfriend...they met while vacationing in the caribbean. he's a handsome tuxedo cat!
those overripe + expired bananas make the tastiest banana bread...just another reason to drink more coffee.
kitty went shopping at Target over the weekend and bought a Liberty of London dress...
kitty is lounging around today working on the ny times crossword puzzle...which would be torture for me.
yum. the chocolate chunk mix is my favorite. each cookie is almost as big as a dinner plate so it's not a big deal to eat just one...
her sandals are white patent leather...I wish they fit me.
nate got a hold of kitty and trashed her! he gave her a belly button! I'm still laughing at this...
not one of my favorite outfits...this trend of layering + ruffles perplexes me.
...just some doodles plopped on a burlap tiff...
I guess kitty is irish...I'm not, but I'll have a frothy ice cold beer anyways!
my submission for the lettercult blog for the letter "B"...check out all the rest (here)...nates is cool.
kitty wears wellies!
you didn't know kitty was a high-powered executive? she runs the show. and me? well, I am very happy for my freelance-work-in-my-pj's status. she does sauce-it-up with her fishnets, tho.
the subterranean layer is so full of intrigue + promise...
she needs a little grooming, um, spa time...she'll be back on monday all refreshed.
I just posted this recipe on our new site "they draw and cook"...check it out...better yet, go to the site and scroll down to the artists submission place and send in one of your illustrated recipes. this is one of my favorite williams-sonoma vegetarian recipes.
she has been looking through the sundance catalog...
someday I will turn these doodle-y random sketches into something...a big kraft paper coloring book would be fun. fun for me anyways.
you guessed it...she won an oscar for her performance in "cat on a hot tin roof"... designer "salliano" thought that layers + layers of petal pink tulle would be a purrfect dress for kitty.
I've got plans for this little doodle that took me less than 2 minutes...kraft paper + goopy ink pen are the best.
aha! kitty has been in my closet and found my favorite orla kiely outfit from the "grey colt" and also has my orla kiely wallet. she had better be buying me a present...from the "grey colt".
much better. ommmmm...
kitty!!! it's 2010...not 1984. but i love my little knit texture pattern and i do still wear leg warmers (in the house...they're super cool w/ a bell bottom leg and a peace sign knitted at the ankle).
yay. my eco-alphabet is finally getting a little action.
I think she is trying to hail a taxi...she doesn't know the subway system very well...and neither do I.
kitty is in the kitchen...she is feeling much more domestic than me today. remember, her outfits are made from patterns I have been creating for other projects and such ... in no way does her wardrobe resemble mine! (well, sometimes it does, but not today)
this slightly sheer number has real gold metallic thread stitching...she is thinking caribbean.
I am optimistic that the weather will brighten .... I re-colored this pattern from a previous design to remind the sun that we have missed seeing its shining face.
much thanks to Alex S. for introducing me to this site "lettercult". I'm becoming a lettering junkie and have much admiration for designers with an eye for the letter. here is my submission for the "letter A" category. and yes, I have a voice in mind for momma + baby "A".
um...kitty is having a hard time getting the day started and would like to stay in her pj's all day...I'm sure she will be dressed by tomorrow.
