for the entire month of september I am going to do a new colorway for each day...I'm starting out using this warm blue-green since it's been featured in every catalog + magazine I've opened in the last 3 days.
I bought this box of figs mostly to illustrate them but nate came over and made this very yummy dinner of baked figs + fettuccine in a lovely balsamic/butter sauce...I drank wine + watched everyone else cook.
I wish someone would buy this design of mine + print it in these 3 colorways so I could wrap all of my christmas presents with it...or even better...white flocking on aqua metallic...oooh-la-la.
...david also surprised me with this center cuff bracelet (with the square crystal stones) from the devout home. all of the other bracelets are from him as well...needless to say, he is a great gift giver...always a total surprise and always well thought out. Lorelei has really cool jewelry in her shop...this is my way of saying "go to the Devout Home!!!!!"...
many of my birthday gifts this year came from The Devout Home (here) my other very favorite shop in the cleveland area. david added to my recently started mermaid collection...which is mostly from the devout home already...it's a REALLY awesome shop in rocky river. if you stop in, tell the owner Lorelei I say "hey"...
if you've never ventured over to my "links + awesome sites", here is the work of Elaine Pamphilon. see more of her work here. her color palettes are so incredibly beautiful + her brushstrokes are so freeing. she is definitely one of my favorite artists. I often end the day by looking at her site.
nate managed to use every gem, paper, bead + bauble on my desk to make me this super cute birthday card. I will share some of my other fun, creative, beautiful gifts next posting. what a fun day so far. I love that I was born at 12:23 on the 23rd. thanks mom....
this is what happens when you listen to trashy 80's dance remix music when designing holiday products. I think I will have to keep going with this til it's a late nite party!
the asheville arboretum has a wonderful bonsai collection...and I'm sharing these pics cuz I'm so overwhelmed with work since returning from vacation that I have nothing new to post. I was half way finished with a new piece to post when lightning struck, the power went out and I hadn't saved my file........argh. when will I ever learn.
seriously. it's great. I endorse it 100%. hey, my 24 year old niece told me to try it and she is awesomely cool + hip + beautiful. my feet will be looking g o o d all week in my water skis...
packing up for a trip to my favorite place ... asheville n.c. but argh ... trying to upload programs and transfer files to a computer to take with ... do I really think I'm going to work? I will. I will. yes, I will...
what? already? this is my 100th posting. and I decided to say "hey + thanks" to nate, my fun brother + awesome studio partner. he listened to me ramble on + on about my big blog idea while snowshoeing in montana this spring. he's taught me everything digital + is my on call tech support and he NEVER complains. he did however, refuse to help me set up the blog...so I was forced to bug lots of other people. thanks everyone!
If you're here viewing and visiting my blog I say thank YOU! For some REALLY cool art and inspiration visit They Draw & Cook and They Draw & Travel (my brother Nate and I are the founders!)
