me + the kitties are sad that awesome brother/studio partner nate has moved from being 2 hours away to being 9 hours away...but I also thank my lucky stars cuz he makes me laugh so much + is so creative + inspiring.
if I could knit I would make myself a big sweater in this pattern and stay cozy on these snowy days ... today is another snow day ... no school.
yep. that's our son. today is his seventeenth birthday! how did little smarty-pants turn 17 so quickly? he's a smart one, that Sam I am.

it's been awhile since I've posted a "favorite-wouldn't want to live without-item"...so here ya go. flaxseed oil...better than fish oil cuz it's vegetarian. definitely helps keep the energy level high + my hair feeling stronger.

ok...I'm stretching the letter "S" theme here but I am SUPER proud of my SUPER cool nephew Alex Pakis for being the feature article in a japanese magazine. click here for more images...he has been creating some pretty great things lately.
I have done many sympathy cards for Great Arrow Graphics. Their silkscreen printing makes any piece of art look 100 times better. see more of their cards here.

this work is by artist jon keith swindell. my brother-in-law. he was my design professor in college and by far one of the best instructors I have ever had. he is currently teaching at the university of kansas. I will share his latest project in a few weeks...it is amazing.

the original recipe for this doesn't include the chick peas but I added them for texture...you can decide.
I like designing things in sets or as part of a series ... I think only one of these designs has been purchased, tho.

this is my new favorite combination of veggies to saute ... cauliflower, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, leeks + shitake mushrooms. served over polenta + sprinkled with toasted pine nuts...very tasty!
I did these handmade shoe-inspired cards for Paper Magic Group a season or two ago...yes, that is white boa trim on the fancy white slipper. Have I mentioned how much I love doing handmades for the Paper Magic Group??
